There are two parts to my trap: the actual trap and the funnel.
The funnel is made by cutting a piece of paper to approximately 6" and rolling it into a tube and taping it. The funnel will be hollow so that the "mouse" can go through easily.
The trap is used with a bigger piece of paper and needs to have a larger circumference than the funnel. The back will also be closed off with a piece of paper to ensure the mouse won't escape.
The end of the trap that is not blocked off by a piece of paper will have three rubber bands snuggly laid across it. These rubber bands will be fastened to the sides of the paper by paperclips and tape. (Except for one of them because I had a max material use of eight)
The trap is set up by opening the rubber bands wide enough and fastening it around the funnel. When the mouse travels through the funnel and hits the back of the trap, it will push the trap away from the funnel and the rubber bands will close, thus trapping the mouse. When tested at first, I had only put two rubber bands, but the "mouse" (or golfball in our case) was able to escape. So, I added the third rubber band and the trap worked perfectly. The trap did not exceed any limitations and it looked good all the while.
